Our driver and guide, Omar, picked us up early from our riad, and we set off in a 4×4. As we crossed the Atlas Mountains, we were in awe of how the scenery and colors changed. We stopped frequently to take photos of the typical Berber villages and the vibrant mountain landscapes. We reached the Tizi N’Tichka pass at 2,260 meters, and after lunch, we arrived at the famous Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site that has been the backdrop for many famous films such as (Game of Thrones, and Gladiator). Our route took us through the Ziz Valley, with its vast palm grove, and the Middle Atlas Mountains. Here, the scenery turned green and alpine, reminiscent of the Pyrenees. We even passed through Ifrane, often called “Moroccan Switzerland” for its European architecture.
