Following a traditional groundbreaking blessing of the grounds on April 30, Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort celebrated the grand opening of the ‘Ilikai Villas, 19 brand-new three-bedroom options at the resort. The newest luxury villa offerings at the are located on the high point of property. ‘Ilikai, the Hawaiian word for horizon, aptly captures the new villa experience, with expansive views of the ocean.
Each 1,900-square-foot villa offers a gourmet Bosch Kitchen, a variety of bedding options and a lanai to enjoy the ocean views. (Fun fact: ‘Ilikai is the Hawaiian word for “horizon.”) Ground floor units have private plunge pools, while the top experience—the penthouse villa—spans over 3,750 square feet and includes a glass-bottom cantilevered pool.
Designed by Honolulu-based design firm WCIT Architecture, the ‘Ilikai Villas celebrate key elements that characterize the history and area of Wailea, including the ‘elepaio bird, ‘uala (sweet potato) and m?kapu (rock forms inspiring, in part, the name of the beach fronting the resort).
In addition to the 11 villas available for overnight rental already on property, every booking with the ‘Ilikai Villas puts guests in touch directly with the resort’s VIP concierge team who will customize the experience by assisting with all elements of preplanning a visit to Maui. Villa rates are inclusive of complimentary valet parking for one vehicle, full daily breakfast at Ka’ana Kitchen for two people per bedroom, and a bonus resort credit of $150 per day.
Located on Maui’s southwestern coastline along Mokapu Beach, the 15-acre beachfront Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort has 320 guestrooms and suites, including 30 two- to four-bedroom residential villas, along with outdoor infinity pools; a 14,000-square-foot full-service spa with a private, adults-only pool, apothecary, retail and fitness facility; and two restaurants by acclaimed chef Masaharu Morimoto.
