The Sky Rooftop Villa at The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai in Playa del Carmen has made its debut as “the largest hotel penthouse in North America.” Accommodating up to 12 guests, the 26,900-square-foot Sky Rooftop Villa occupies the entire top floor of the building and offers five bedrooms, expansive living spaces, two kitchens, a mid-Olympic-size infinity pool, and views of the ocean and nature reserve.
Upon arrival at the Sky Rooftop Villa, guests are led down a limestone corridor that opens to five guestrooms, each designed with delicate wood canopy beds, plush sofas and floor lamps. Pretty cool: Each guestroom is equipped with a private deck, complete with jacuzzi, wet bar, lounge area and ocean views.
The penthouse suite frames ocean views through floor-to-ceiling glass on three sides that open to a mid-Olympic-size outdoor infinity pool, landscaped entertainment deck, catering kitchen and guest kitchen. Visitors can step through the full-height sliding glass doors to access the covered outdoor terrace that includes two DJ booths, which transform the space into a venue for large private events. An adjacent uncovered terrace of equal size leads to the outdoor pool, which creates a waterfall on one end while a sunken garden lounge on the prow of the pool deck offers ocean views.
With each Sky Rooftop Villa booking, guests can expect complimentary airport transfers for up to 12 guests, as well as daily amenities including an in-suite breakfast, a private pool/bar attendant from 9 a.m.to 5:30 p.m., and a private cabana at the resort’s pier. Guests of the Sky Rooftop Villa are welcome to enjoy private bespoke experiences, including in-villa dining, a private DJ and private yoga sessions. The Pre-Set In-Villa Dining Experience brings the resort’s chefs together to craft menus catered to each party’s needs, using fresh local ingredients to showcase the flavors and culinary heritage of the Riviera Maya. Whether it be a romantic dinner under the stars, a casual poolside lunch or a multi-course feast, private chefs are available on call for guests of the Sky Rooftop Villa. They also receive guest service assistance and priority reservations in the hotel’s signature restaurants, KI’IS and SO’OL, which are helmed by Mexican chefs, Francisco “Paco” Ruano and Tomás Bermúdez.
