Higashiyama Niseko Village, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve Opens in Japan

Higashiyama Niseko Village, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is now open and welcoming guests to the winter sports destination of Niseko. Located in the country’s northernmost island of Hokkaido, Higashiyama Niseko Village, owned by YTL Hotels, is a ski-in/ski-out property and becomes the fifth Ritz-Carlton Reserve in the world.

Higashiyama Niseko Village, located at the base of Mount Niseko Annupuri in the heart of Niseko Village, is an integrated all-season alpine resort. The resort is set within the Niseko United ski area that offers 2,191 acres of skiable terrain and access to extensive backcountry skiing; it’s touted as one of the world’s premier powder snow destinations. The area also has an international ski school, chairlifts and gondolas, a dining and retail venue, an outdoor activity park and two golf courses.

The hotel has 50 guestrooms and suites appointed with refined amenities, including polished marble, cedarwood and flame-brushed granite. Its culinary ethos focuses on the philosophy of “shun,” the celebration of seasonal produce harvested at its peak. Guests can expect cuisine that mirrors the seasons with the locally sourced vegetables, prized cuts and seafood served at Yukibana. Another dining experiences can be enjoyed at Sushi Nagi, whichi observes the omakase tradition. Customized cocktails, single malts and local brews may be found by the fireplace at Ume Lounge, which also serve an array of Izakaya-style dishes.

With a focus on holistic wellness, the spa offers tailored treatments. The resort also has a traditional Japanese onsen with mineral-rich waters of Niseko’s natural underground hot springs for guests to rejuvenated in. For guests who wish to maintain their workout routines during their stay, the resort offers a fitness center, complete with Technogym equipment.
